Captioned pictures are the oldest joke format on the internet and the most fragile in an archive. The picture is meaningless without the line, the line is meaningless without the picture, and the two were almost never stored together. A file was forwarded with the caption typed into the body of the email, so the copy that survives has one half of the joke.

That is why entries like this one preserve the title even when the image has gone: the words are the part that can still be traced. It is also a reason to be careful with any captioned image found later — captions are the easiest thing to change, and a reused photograph with a new line has been a staple of misinformation for as long as it has been a staple of comedy.
