Conspiracy charts are a recognisable visual form, independent of whatever they claim. The layout is always the same: many named nodes, lines drawn between all of them, no distinction between an employment record and an inference, and no direction to any arrow. Because everything connects to everything, the diagram cannot be wrong, which is exactly the property that makes it useless.

Parodies of the form work by keeping the layout and replacing the contents, and they expose the trick better than an argument does. The honest version of such a diagram would mark each edge with its evidence and leave the unsupported links off, at which point most of the picture disappears.
