Almost nothing in this collection carries an author, and that is a property of how the pictures moved rather than an oversight. An image forwarded as an email attachment arrives with a filename and nothing else: no caption, no credit, no date. Each forward strips whatever context the previous one had, and the filename is often the only surviving clue about the subject.

That is why entries here are titled by whatever the file was called. It also explains the odd names: an abbreviation, a surname, a scanner default. Where the picture itself is gone, the filename is the whole record. Anyone trying to trace such an image today starts from a reverse image search and from archived copies of the pages that once hosted it, not from the file.
